A knife that is too dull can ruin your food and can also cause injury. A sharp knife is a safe knife.

3. Use a timer.

If you’re going to be cooking something for more than ten minutes, set a timer. It can save you from burning your food if you accidentally leave it on the stove.

4. Use a thermometer.

There are many different types of thermometers available. The best ones to use are the ones that measure the internal temperature of the food. They are usually placed into the center of the food. If you don’t have one, just stick your finger in the food and take its temperature.

5. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

When you’re first learning how to cook, you may want to try out new recipes and new ways of preparing foods. However, there’s no harm in trying something that you’ve never tried before. Just make sure that whatever you’re trying doesn’t require a lot of skill.

6. Learn to read recipes.

Most people don’t know how to read a recipe. If you don’t know how to read them, you’ll find yourself wasting a lot of time searching for the right ingredients.

7. Read the labels on your canned goods.

Don’t buy anything without reading the label. There are many harmful chemicals in canned goods, so read the labels carefully.

8. Use fresh herbs.

Fresh herbs taste much better than dried herbs. If you’re going to use dried herbs, make sure you grind them yourself.

9. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

If you’re unsure about something, ask your mom or dad, a friend or a teacher. You may be surprised at what they can tell you.

10. Keep a notebook handy.

Write down the ingredients, the method you used and any other important details. This way, you won’t forget anything.
